Debt Is a Financial Disease

Situation:   Lets examine our social structures using a medical metaphor.    Is society ill?   Does it have any diseases?   If so, what are the symptoms?   If it has any diseases, how would you define those illnesses?   What are their causes?   What are their cures?

The Symptoms:   The evidence tells us that society is very ill.   Major financial and environmental problems are two of  the main symptoms.   There are several other significant symptoms, such as crime, war, poverty, political corruption, starvation, et cetera, but for this analogy, we'll focus on money and the environment. 

The Diseases:   What are the diseases?   The evidence tells us that humanity has five major diseases --  that it has five major causes of social sickness,   They are:

1)    Financial mismanagement  (mainly the misuse of debt)       

2)    Ignorance,     

3)    Denial,       

4)    Refusal to change,     and     

5)    Being blinded by illusions  ---  Illusions such as:

The Causes:   As the world is run today, money is the key to power.   Today that power is used mostly for fear-filled self-interest of a few at the expense of everything and everyone else.   Debt (charging interest for the use of money)  is the primary tool with which those who control the financial world  manipulate, control, and secretly steal everybody else's wealth.  

This diseases of debt has three main sources --  Government debt  --  Unnecessary corporate debt and  ---  The financial wheelers and dealers.   The three sources are intermingled and each plays off the other.   

       The Government:     The financial institutions own the structures that control the government.    The major financially focused  corporations  and the government work together to secretly steal of your wealth.   Their three main tool are  The Federal Reserve --   Fractional- reserve lending  ---   Government deficit financing.   For example, do you realize that banks and the credit card companies are  lending non-existing money and charge you  interest for its use.²   

       The Corporations:     The second major financial rip off is corporations borrowing money and never paying off their debts.   The super-wealthy have turned the major corporations into cash cows for themselves.   If you handled your personal finances the way the major corporations handle theirs, you'd be considered to be crazy.

       The Financial Wheelers and Dealers:    The super-wealthy are no longer in charge of the money machine that they created.   They have set into motion, forces over which they no longer have control.   Thousands of hot-shot wheelers and dealers have taken the super-wealthy exploitation system and refined it,  expanded it,  and manipulated the economy with it to the level that the entire system is about to collapse.  Borrowing money has moved from borrowing to produce goods and services to  borrowing to lend to someone else at a higher interest rate.  

The Cures:     Of the five diseases described above, the disease of debt is the place to start making changes.   Why start here?   Because the misuse of debt is, by far, the easiest to cure.   It has a physical, tangible aspect that is both doable and measurable.   It's the easiest to understand.  Not only that, redesigning our financial structures dramatically shifts our social context and sets the stage for major changes in other areas.

Step one is to wake up and realize that you are being lied to, manipulated, and milked for money.  Our goal is to examine the evidence, and  expose the lies.  Your job is:

To realize that debt is a serious social  problem, 

To learn the true nature of debt -- that debt has several underlying problems 

To learn how debt is destroying our society and the environment, 

To realize that it's possible to cure this disease,

To realize that we already know what the cause and the cure is,   

To realize that the cure is relatively easy to apply, 

To realize that corporations with publicly traded stock are in a position to lead the way out of this mess.

And to realize that the only reason the already known solutions (the cure for the disease called debt) is not being applied is that most people are stuck in the other four diseases: 

Ignorance,     

Denial,       

Refusal to change,    

Being blinded by illusions 

Resolving the corporate financial  problem is relatively easy.  This is the first and main focus of The New Corporate World Foundation.   For those corporations that choose to participate, creating The New Corporate World Foundation's  Win-Win Business Structure  will result in their getting out of debt and redirecting their profits to the Foundation's beneficiaries --  the employees (including management), the customers, the environment, and to the remaining stockholders.    As the value of this simple change in corporate management emerges, and as others follow their lead, and eventually the disease (unnecessary debt)  will wither and die.   Greatly reducing and/or eliminating corporate debt will set the stage for a multitude of additional changes, such as those described below.    

Redistribution Of  Wealth

Situation:      When one percent of the population controls ninety percent of the wealth, (as is the case in the United States) it doesn't take a genius to figure out that something is seriously wrong with the financial structure.   Presently most of the wealth is controlled by a very few people who are either hording the wealth or using it for extravagant self-aggrandizement.   Because the wealthy own the structures that control the government, the laws have been altered to favor the wealthy at the expense of everybody else.   The present destruction of the middle class is a clear example of this.   

Solution:     Creating and Using The New Corporate World Foundation's    Win-win Business Structure  will result in the redistribution of wealth on the planet at a level never seen or even imagined  before.   And it does so subtly, with grace and ease, and with  no violence.    In  the past, every major attempt to redistribute the wealth has been both violent and futile.   

With N. C. World's win-win business structure, that is no longer the case.   Every company that joins the N. C. World will be a party to the peaceful redistribute the wealth.    In this aspect, alone, N. C. World's potential for social transformation is awesome.   

For the corporations that manage their business using N. C. Solution:

The world's corporations have:  the means,  the motive,  the talent,  the opportunity,  the physical resources,  the financial resources, the ability, the capacity, and the freedom do what is required in order to be a major players in the Reversal of  Global Warming.

Individual Participation

Situation:    Even if they are concerned about the environment, most people feel powerless to do anything about it.  

Solution:     The New Corporate World Foundation's   Win-win Business Structure is designed to get beyond that feeling of powerlessness.  When the employees of a corporation work as a mutually supportive team, they are not only powerful,  they know they are powerful.   They are also in charge of what they will do and how they will do it.   

This is a big step  above the classic command,  "Think globally.  Act locally."   When most people here that statement, they say something like,  "Ya, sure.!  That's a nice idea, but I'm just one person.   What can I do?"    When a large group is together and hear that same statement, some of them actually start thinking and when that happens, answers follow.   Also, the corporation and the foundation together will have money, the talent and the resources to implement whatever the group decides to do.   

A Peaceful Transition

Situation:   When you look back into human history, you'll notice that most major social changes have been dramatic, rapid, chaotic, poorly directed, tightly controlled by a very small number of people.    They've also been heartless, divisive, authoritarian, and violent.   Commonly, one group used violence to overpower another.    Within a short time, the new controllers became as bad as the group that they overpowered.   One set of dominators simply replaced another.   The net result was little more than a violent variation of musical chairs.   

Even today in areas when violence is minimal or absent, you'll see that one group is still attempting to impose its will onto everyone else.   The forced motherhood war (anti-abortion) is a clear example of this.   In a society that openly peddles alcohol, nicotine, and thousands of prescription drugs, we have a war on certain declared-to-be-illegal substances.   When any group attempts to dominate by force and/or by intimidation, freedom is replaced by tyranny.  

Solution:      In sharp contrast to the old ways, creating The New Corporate World Foundation's  Win-Win Business Structure  is exactly the opposite in every aspect.    The transfer of wealth and financial power will be gradual, low key, non-violent, by freewill choice, and without all the high drama.   There will be thousands of leaders and not just a few.   The rate of change is controlled by the speed at which the foundations are created and funded.   In The New Corporate World Foundation's  Win-Win Business Structure, there are no central controls, only guidelines for positive action.   

Participation is by free will choice.   Each corporation is completely independent in choosing to create a NCW Foundation or to mainta in business as usual.   For the corporations that choose to participate, each foundation will be set up with a carefully designed plan written into the corporate bylaws with adaptations for each corporations individual requirements.

Diversity and Decentralization

Situation:    Governments, as currently structured,  are limited in what they can do to solve our social, economic, and environmental problems.    All too often, governments are the major source of power pushing in exactly the opposite direction.     Even when government is working on solutions, they are incredibly inefficient and deadly slow to move.

Solution:     Implementing The New Corporate World Foundation's   Win-win Business Structure  will result in the decentralization of power and influence.   Under The New Corporate World Foundation Program, corporations will simply start acting in the best interest of their foundation's  five beneficiaries --  management, employees, customers, environment, and stockholders.   

Each corporation will have its own priorities and areas of expertise.   The diversity of talents, backgrounds, setting, and ideas will bring solutions that are way beyond anything that any single  government bureaucracy  could produce.    Also, corporations can act much more quickly to a new idea than can any official government agency.    Because of the new corporate structure,  because of the urgent need for solutions, and because generating profits are no longer the exclusive goal, when one corporation comes up with a very good idea, it is likely to be shared with others.   The net result will be a major shift toward resolving the most urgent most universal problem on the planet -- The Reversal of Global Warming    

Taking the Next Step

Situation:   We hear a lot of talk.  We see a lot of small, positive  steps being taken.   But the desperately needed and critically important, major action is still all but non-existent.   Why?  Because the major concentrations of financial power (i.e. the world's corporations) are still focused on  profits only at the expense of everyone and everything else.
